Free, confidential pregnancy testing
Our lab-quality pregnancy tests are available same day at all four of our Massachusetts locations. No appointment is necessary for a pregnancy test, though scheduling ahead of time is recommended for a shorter wait. The test takes just a few minutes, and you will have your results before you leave. A Registered Nurse will talk through what the result means and what your next steps could look like, without any pressure. Whether the result is positive, negative, or unclear, we are here to help you understand what comes next.
Who should get tested
If you have missed a period, are experiencing early pregnancy symptoms such as nausea, breast tenderness, fatigue, or frequent urination, or if you have had unprotected intercourse, a pregnancy test can give you a clear answer. Even if you are using birth control, no method is 100 percent effective. Testing removes the uncertainty so you can plan your next step with confidence.
What happens during your visit
- You check in privately at the front desk. No information is shared with anyone.
- A nurse or patient advocate brings you to a comfortable, confidential space.
- You provide a urine sample for a medical-grade HCG pregnancy test.
- Results are ready in just a few minutes while you wait.
- If positive, the Nurse will likely recommend you have an ultrasound. An ultrasound can often be provided at the time of your pregnancy test appointment. If positive, a patient advocate will go over your options with you.
- If negative but you still have concerns, we can discuss next steps and retest if needed.
What if my test is positive
A positive result means the test detected the pregnancy hormone HCG. The next recommended step is a limited obstetric ultrasound, which confirms the pregnancy is in the uterus, estimates how far along you are, and checks that the pregnancy is developing as expected. We offer ultrasounds at no cost and can often schedule one the same day or within a few days. You will also meet one-on-one with a patient advocate who can walk you through parenting, adoption, and abortion procedures without pressure.
No insurance or ID required
Our pregnancy tests are always free. We do not bill insurance, require identification, or ask for immigration status. Nothing about your visit appears on any insurance statement or household paperwork. Your privacy is protected under HIPAA.
